Neighbors, Not Strangers

Every neighborhood has stories. Some are messy, some are beautiful, and most are still being written. That’s us too. We don’t show up here because we’ve got life figured out. We show up because we believe Jesus is still at work, writing redemption into our stories.

At The Neighborhood Church, you’ll find a community of imperfect people learning to love God and love others with open hands and open hearts. No matter where you’ve been, there’s a place for you in this story.

The Neighborhood Way

We believe church should feel less like an institution and more like a neighborhood — a place where everyone is seen, known, and loved. At The Neighborhood Church, we live out our faith through rhythms and habits we call The Neighborhood Way. These shape who we are as a church family and as followers of Jesus.

  • In every neighborhood, the front porch matters. It’s where relationships begin. We strive to be a front-porch kind of church — creating space where every person can find belonging. As part of the Church of the Nazarene, we believe God’s prevenient grace is already reaching out to every neighbor, and our role is to open the door wide.

  • Joy isn’t about fake smiles — it’s about living with the hope of Jesus even in life’s struggles. We believe holiness isn’t heavy or restrictive, but freeing. As neighbors, we celebrate together, worship passionately, and let God’s Spirit spill over in laughter, gratitude, and life.

  • Shallow roots won’t last. That’s why we commit to growing in Scripture, prayer, and discipleship. We believe, as Nazarenes, in the transforming work of grace that changes us from the inside out — making us more like Christ in thought, word, and deed. Depth happens in community, through accountability, learning, and love.

  • Our hands are open because our God is generous. We give of our time, talents, and resources to bless our city and world. We believe holiness is not just private but social — it shows up in how we care for the poor, feed the hungry, respond to injustice, and love our neighbors.

  • Every neighbor has a role in the story God is writing. We believe in empowering people to discover and live their God-given gifts. In the Church of the Nazarene, we talk about being “holy people on mission” — every believer is sent into their neighborhood, workplace, and family as a light of Christ.

Our Core Values

We are part of the Church of the Nazarene, a global family committed to the historic Christian faith. At the center of all we do is Jesus Christ — fully God, fully man, Savior and Lord.

The authority of Scripture

Salvation by grace through faith in Christ

The transforming power of the Holy Spirit

The call to live holy lives of love toward God and neighbor

The hope of resurrection and eternal life

These are not just statements to sound nice — they are convictions that shape how we live in our neighborhood every day.  We’ve given you the highlights, but if you’d like to read the full, detailed statement of faith from the Church of the Nazarene, click the button below:
